I am a young Indian man who has been living with his family in Muscat, Oman for the past 14 years. I am pleased to have grown up in a multicultural environment as I feel that his is excellent preparation for the hospitality industry, working with people from all over the world. I attended junior school, for example, in an international school with students and teachers representing 50 countries. I graduate from high school this coming April, 2013 and have my heart set on studying Hotel Management at the XXXX International University in the Hague. I seek an in depth immersion in all aspects of hotel management, especially the business aspects, the central focus of your distinguished program.
In addition to Oman and India, I have also visited Germany, the UK, Kenya, Jordan, the UAE, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives. In all of these places, I carefully and closely observed hotel personal at work, especially when I was able to stay at really upscale hotels. I really thrive in this environment. I find hotel management to be the ideal professional for someone with an international character like myself and with my passion for everything related to traveling. For me, nothing could be more satisfying that exceeding the expectations of guests, providing them with a really unique experience that makes their stay truly memorable. After graduating from your program, I intend to look for a position as the Head of the Events and Conferences Department of a mid-sized hotel.
I have volunteered during blood donation camps; my responsibility was to contact and remind donors before the camp as well as helping with the registration during the camp. I have distinguished myself in drama as a high school student, winning 1st runner up for the Inter House Drama competition in 2010 and 1st place in 2012. It was my great honor to serve as Master of Ceremonies for Sports Day (2011), Independence Day and Republic Day (2011 and 2012), and the Valedictory function for XXXX Inter school Cultural Festival, 2011 and 2012. I am also serving as President of Charity Club in this, my final year of high school. Charity Club has helped me to learn how to become highly effective at working in teams and motivating others towards a noble cause. Finally, I was awarded both the Gold Stand and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme (DEAS); I also took part in the All India Maths and Science Olympiad in grade 10 and achieved a 90 percentile rank.
In addition to English and Hindi, I am also fluent in written as well as spoken Arabic, which will be an important asset in hotel management. I am very much a "people person,” making friends very easily. I enjoy the company not only of young adults, but also the elderly, and children in particular. I am most fond of cracking jokes and entertaining people and see humor as one of our greatest gifts and assets. I study piano and also very much enjoy playing tennis and basketball.
I thank you for your consideration of my application to your program.
